The Fake Rolex Day-Date Emoji — A Case Of Heart Or SMH?

If you thought the new Oyster Perpetual Celebration was snazzy, the Rolex Day-Date Emoji is texting, “Hold my beer”. It’s a bit of a crazy case of Rolex manufacturing, but of course, there’s some beautiful handwork at work. Can we get started?

Listen, I’ll go ahead and talk about it. A lot of people are upset about the new Rolex Day-Date Emoji laid out in front of you in this article. As you can see, it doesn’t do a very good job of implementing its model name – that is, telling us the date and time. In fact, even the readability is a bit of a mess for timekeeping. However, these watches are distinctive, colourful, and a bit different. At the end of the day, almost no one reading this is going to buy a watch like this, so why not enjoy it for what it is – expensive fun?

Before we get to the fake Rolex Day-Date Emoji, I thought I’d at least level something up for our loyal and active commenters. I’m sure we’ll get the “Oh Rolex, where have you been? What have you become?” and other such taunts. Or we’ll read, “I can’t even buy a Submariner, Rolex, and you’re wasting your time on these things?” And then there’s the whole “Rolex, I see you’re pandering to the flashy influencer crowd with this; I’m done with it!” of the thread. I say bring on these comments, but you should remember that Rolex has been here many times before. Think of the vintage Day-Date “Stella” dials, and before you say they were classics, they were loud when they were released. Also, what about the Daytona Leopard? Good luck with timing with that watch! Rainbow Daytona, anyone?

Well, now that I’ve properly defused your anger, it’s time to soften you up with all sorts of hearts and smiley faces, because the Rolex Day-Date Emoji seems to have them! Essentially, Rolex has provided a new solution to it! Basically, Rolex has released three versions of this watch, and they are all 36mm. Yellow gold (128238), white gold (128239) and stellar (128235) are all offered. Each model has a champlevé enamel dial (the metal face is cut out and filled with enamel) with multicoloured puzzle pieces. In case you were wondering, these puzzle pieces symbolize key moments in life. The white and yellow gold pieces feature light blue enamel. For the rose gold model, orange is used.

Note the use of 10 baguette sapphires for the Rolex Day-Date Emoji’s hour markers. Rolex chose six different colours and combined them nicely with the dial colour. There are no luminescent to speak of on this swiss replica watches! However, the window is where it gets interesting. Instead of the normal days of the week and numbers, there are emojis and emotions in the date. In the date window, “joy”, “eternity”, “gratitude”, “peace”, “faith”, “love” and “hope” are all listed. For the date itself, there are 31 different emoticons. Hey, if you’re full of emotions, then days and dates are obviously of little use.

Generally speaking, everything about the Rolex Day-Date Emoji functions in line with mainstream models. That means you can stare into a puzzle-like abyss while diving down to 100 meters. You can also easily change the “day” or “date” with the chronometer-certified 3255 movement. For now, the watch will only come with a fluted bezel and the legendary President strap.

You can come at me with anger, but I actually like the Rolex Day-Date Emoji models. They are beautifully made (I’m sure) and a little different. Yes, the chances are pretty high (like 100%) that you’ll see these on a bunch of tacky celebrities in designer sweatpants and posh “sneakers”, but such is life. For now, I’m content to enjoy these things – something fun and a little different, if not entirely practical.
